MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY 2025
Thank you to everyone who attended our 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration!
Held on January 20, 2025, at the YWCA of Lewiston-Clarkston, this inspiring event offered visitors a chance to explore Dr. King’s enduring vision through an informative mini-exhibit, interactive activities, creative engagement, and presented the opportunity to reflect on justice, unity, and inclusion.
Information about civil rights activists and changemakers Dorothy Height, Claudette Colvin, John Lewis, Wilma Mankiller, Joseph McNeil, Martin Luther King Jr., Daisy Bates, and A. Philip Randolph was on display for visitors to read. Participants were also able to experience an interactive exhibit highlighting the nonviolent sit-in protests at various lunch counters during the Civil Rights Movement. A craft station was available for children (and children at heart) with the opportunity to make origami doves, peace signs, and color activity pages. Lastly, attendees were able to leave a “dream” for the community on a dream wall – inspired by Dr. King’s vision of unity.
This engaging event provided a wonderful opportunity for the community to reflect on Dr. King’s words and share their hope for the future. Thank you again to everyone who attended!
