2024 COLOR RUN TIPS

This 5k Color Run along the Snake and Clearwater River’s will include 7 Color Stations and 3 Water Station’s.

DRESS THE PART: Wear your white Color Run t-shirt! The color powder sticks better to slightly damp material. There will be a misting station set up near the start line and misting bottles at the water stations along the course. The color powder consists of cornstarch and natural dyes that clean easily off most surfaces (cleaning is as easy as brushing off a majority of the color powder, then a little soap and water should take care of the rest) but you might choose to wear something you don’t mind getting stained, and you probably won’t want to wear your newest pair of running shoes.

WEAR A BANDANA AND SUNGLASSES. Bandana’s and sunglasses are included in your registration bags! At each checkpoint along the course, volunteers will be standing by to douse you in a different colored powder. If you plan on getting messy, a bandana and sunglasses will help you keep the powder out of your nose, mouth, and eyes. If you want to skip the dousing of color, just let the volunteers know as you approach the station!

BRING A SMALL SANDWICH BAG FOR YOUR CELL PHONE. You’re probably going to want to capture this colorful event in all its glory, but since you can’t throw your phone in the wash after the race, it’s probably best to keep it in a baggie to protect it from the powder.

BRING A TOWEL FOR YOUR CAR: Getting into your car after the Color Run might be a little messy. Bring old towels or a blanket to help protect the interior of your car, and you may choose to bring baby wipes to clean off your hands before heading out for the day.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for the community to get outside, exercise, and spend time with friends, family, co-workers, or make new friends.

The YWCA of Lewiston-Clarkston is committed to efforts aimed at eliminating racism and celebrating diversity. This event represents an active step in the direction of eradicating racism by educating the community.
