BEGINNERS DOG OBEDIENCE

Class runs for 7 sessions •   Starts at 6:30-7:15pm      The fee is $68.90
(including tax)

In this class you and your dog will learn basic exercises that will enhance your relationship and will make it safer to take Fido out in the real world.  The exercises will include:  heeling on leash with automatic sit at halt, sit stay, down stay, coming when called and other commands needed to improve the socialization of your dog.  This is an excellent opportunity for you or your child to learn control and training of the family dog. 

You will need a slip collar (choke chain) and a 6' leather or nylon leash. 
Dogs need to be at least 16 weeks old and trainer has to be strong enough to handle the dog
Dogs do not attend the first session. 
All dogs are required to have received their rabies and DHLP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus) vaccines.  A bordetella vaccine is also strongly recommended.
 
Class limited to 16 do
gs, pre-registration is required.

AKC Dog Confirmation Training

Class runs for 7 sessions • Saturdays 10:00 - 12:00 The fee is pay-as-you-come

$5 for minors (18 years and younger)
$10 for adults (18 and over)
4-H members welcome!

These classes are open to purebred and mixed breed dogs. The goal is to teach what is necessary to show a dog at an AKC Dog Show. The first class covers how to register a minimum of 4 weeks prior, what class to enter as a new handler, basic ring etiquette and ring patterns, how to dress, basic dog grooming, what equipment you need, and how you receive championship points. The last class will teach Ring Stewarding - helping a judge in a show ring at a dog show. Classes are taught by local successful dog handlers.
Dogs DO NOT attend first session.

Proof of vaccinations required, mixed breeds welcome for training, obedience training preferred but not required.
