 Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Started off with our 18th annual DSVA Conference held Friday 9/29 and it was a day of high impact training, networking, and showing our community how to start the conversation about domestic violence when someone you love is in an unhealthy and potentially dangerous relationship. We thank all our attendees for working with us to strengthen families and create a healthier, safer community. Special thanks to Wells Fargo (particularly Sunshine Seubert who introduced our keynote speaker!), Regence, Allstate Purple Purse Foundation and local agent Forrest Jenkins, and Tri-State Memorial Hospital for sponsoring this event.

Watch for Shadow Women around the valley.   They are a representation of individuals who have died from domestic violent situations.  Stop and read their stories.

You will see purple ribbons flowing here and there along some of the valley streets.   They are to remind us this is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  There is a bookmark attached to many of the ribbons.  If you can, stop and read it and learn more.

Several valley restuarants and the colleges are displaying table toppers during A Week Without Violence 10/16 - 10/22.  Each table topper will tell you information regarding domestic violence and let you take a short quiz "How does your relationship rate?"
